For over 30 years, God has richly blessed the young people who enter the grounds of the Antiochian Village to experience a week or two of camp. As we write this letter, we reflect on the impact that the Village has played in our own personal lives. The camp and especially the people who have served there have shaped our lives to the point where we continually seek to offer back our gifts to help other young people experience the Orthodox Christian life here. It is with this in mind that we are presenting you with the opportunity to participate in the ongoing ministry of the camp.
This year more than ever as we continue to strive to meet the spiritual needs of our youth, we find one issue that unfortunately never seems to go away. Especially in these difficult economic times, there is a growing need among families of campers for financial assistance. The Order of St Ignatius has increased their giving to camper scholarships, but we still need your help as well. It is our hope that we never have to turn away a camper due to their inability to cover the cost of attending camp.
With this in mind, we are asking for your help. We are establishing a scholarship fund to grant financial aid to children and families that request assistance. These funds will be distributed on a need-basis only, enabling children to attend camp that might not otherwise be afforded the opportunity to experience the Antiochian Village. No gift is too large or too small.
We ask that you take a moment to reflect on your time at the Village and the blessings you have received. Having done so, please offer a child an opportunity to attend camp by making a donation to Alumni Scholarship Fund in order to help the Village touch the lives of others.
